Play Performance is an obligatory subject we, student teachers, should take.
I was chosen as one of the scriptwriter–there were 2 scriptwriters. It was my first time writing a script, and i found it was great. The play was titled Ella. It was inspired by the movie “Ella Enchanted”. We were playing this comedy and people loved it. All of us are jokers, so just imagined when jokers made a comedical play…..people loved it… oh, and i was playing as Ella’s father, by the way. Oh, gosh…i got moustache and my boops were flattened–that was a hard work for the costume designers :]
Oh, and here’s the synopsis, cast and characterization:
Synopsis
The story begins with a child whimpers to her mother on her bed. She says that she is worried about being asked to sing in front of class on the next day. The mother tells her a story about Ella, a girl from Frell in Everafter Kingdom, to fade away all of her daughter’s whimpers.
Ella is a girl who has been given an obedience gift by a sloppy fairy, Lucinda. Ella’s mother is dead when she was a child. She lives with her father, who is married to Dame Cruella years after the death of his wife, in Everafter Kingdom, where Prince Charmont is going to be crowned. Ella meets Prince Charmont, a gorgeous and nice prince, and they fall in love.Meanwhile, Sir Edgar, Prince Charmont’s uncle is trying to vie for king of Everafter Kingdom. He knows that Ella will obey any order. He takes advantage of Ella by order her to kill Prince Charmont. Ella is jailed since she is accused for doing assassination.
Ella is free from her obedience gift as she hears her mother’s advice in her mind during her attempt to assassinate Prince Charmont. She believes that her heart is stronger than any spells. Bunny, one of magical creatures she saved one day, gets her out of the jail. She and Bunny save Prince Charmont from an assassination that is committed by Sir Edgar by poisoning the crown on the carnation day.
Prince Charmont proposes Ella and they live happily ever after.
The story ends with the child’s courage to sing in front of the class after she listens to the story of Ella of Frell. She, finally, sleeps and her mother turns off the light.
Characterization notes
ELLA An intelligent, ingenuous, pretty girl. She obeys any order since she has an obedience gift. Falls in love with Prince Charmont.
PRINCE CHARMONT Nice and gorgeous prince of Everafter Kingdom. All girls and women will fall down on the first time they see him. He is the only candidate for king of Everafter Kingdom.
SIR EDGAR Mean and wicked uncle of Prince Charmont. He wants to vie for king of Everafter Kingdom. He will do everything to be the king of Everafter Kingdom.
EVENSTAR Nice fairy who gives Ella a beauty gift.
LUCINDA Coquettish and sloppy fairy who gives Ella obedience gift.
ELLA’S FATHER A mature man. He’s married again to Dame Cruella after his wife died years ago.
ELLA’S MOTHER Thoughtful mother. She dies when Ella was a child.
ELLA’S STEPMOTHER/DAME CRUELA Mean woman who hates Ella. She likes to frustrate Ella.
BUNNY A kind of humanimal creatures who saves Ella since Ella freed him from slavery.
